Since 1923, the Sandcastle Challenge has been the ultimate traditional family event in Knokke-Heist. This year, we’re taking it to the next level for the 100th anniversary of the Belfius Zoute Sandcastle Challenge at the RiverWoods Beach Club.

We wanted to mark this milestone by preparing something special, something unprecedented. Therefore, we decided to stick to tradition by organizing the usual sandcastle competition, but in addition to that, we have planned a whole series of family activities afterwards! We invite you more than ever to stay after the prize-giving to enjoy the magnificent setting of the River Woods Beach Club, but also to take part in a photo exhibition that retraces the different editions of this legendary Belfius Zoute Sandcastle Challenge. There will also be face-painting workshops for children, kite-making animations, ice cream stalls, the venue of a Guinness Record holder Philippe Bourleau and many other surprises!

The goal? Build the sturdiest sandcastle in 30 minutes that will resist the rising tide as long as possible. It’s all about teamwork, creativity, and of course, a little bit of competitive spirit.
